The Anson County Parks and Recreation department offers youth baseball, basketball and football; adult men's basketball and softball; and women's softball programs. The Department has three ball fields at Little Park, three picnic areas, a children's playground area, basketball court, two tennis courts, and a public swimming pool (also used for swimming lessons); and maintains Civitan Park Field, Little Cotton Field, and Shelton Ball Field.
The Town of Wadesboro oversees the City Pond facility, which includes picnic facilities, a playground area, bank and boat fishing, and an archery range (private). A new public park named Wadesboro Park near the intersection of Center and Gatewood Streets.
Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge
The refuge, located on U.S. 52-North (between Wadesboro and Ansonville), offers fishing and hunting activities, and bird-watching opportunities. The refuge is home to the white-tailed deer, beaver, fox, opossum, gray squirrel, bobcat, rabbit, raccoon, and different types of owls. The refuge is also home to the red cockaded woodpecker, an endangered species.
Flint Ridge Shooting Preserve, Inc.
A privately owned and operated shooting preserve offering half day and full day hunts for quail, chukar, pheasant, and deer. Trained dogs are available. Flint Ridge also has facilities for sporting clays.

Boating, fishing, and water skiing activities are available. A boat ramp allows easy access to the lake.
Lake Tillery is 30 minutes outside of Anson County. Boating, fishing, and water skiing activities are available. A boat ramp allows easy access to the lake. Also has camping grounds, pool, and picnic areas.
Morrow Mountain is located in Albemarle, 45 minutes out of Anson County. State park with hiking, boating, water skiing and fishing available. A boat ramp allows easy access to the lake. Also has camping grounds, pool, and picnic areas.
Badin Lake is 50 minutes outside of Anson County. Boating, fishing, and water skiing activities are available. A boat ramp allows easy access to the lake. Also has a picnic area.
Paramount Carowinds Theme Park
Paramount Carowinds Theme Park is 90 minutes away in Charlotte, North Carolina. Amusement park, featuring rides, shows and concerts, water park and campgrounds.
