Income Maintenance Supervisor II

Salary Grade: 67 (Hiring Range:  $33,213 - $34,874)

Employee in this position is responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of Income Maintenance Caseworkers in Food and Nutrition Services, Adult Medicaid and Family and Children’s Medicaid programs. Employee is responsible for supervising the work of Income Maintenance Caseworkers involved in intake, processing and review functions in any of the economic services.  The employee reports to the director of the agency and is highly involved in developing unit procedures and planning processes. Employee plans for the day to day operation as well as long range program changes.  Employee develops goals and objectives for the unit that are consistent with the goals and objectives of the larger organization.  Employee organizes, prioritizes and directs work and staff in order to meet State, Federal and County goals.  Employee assesses and provides on the job training for new as well as seasoned staff.  Employee counsels and evaluates staff regarding performance. Employee has a working knowledge of their program budgeting process and understands the impact of their programs upon department and county budgets. Employee keeps the director and fiscal officer informed of rule changes that impact their program budget.

Minimum Training and Experience

Graduate from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which include negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience and three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
