Income Maintenance Caseworker II

Salary Grade:  63 -- $28,173-$29,582

General Statement of Duties

Reporting to an Income Maintenance Supervisor, the Income Maintenance Caseworker II is responsible for the process of determining applicant’s eligibility for Economic Services Programs (Food & Nutrition Services, Family & Children’s Medicaid, and Adult Medicaid).  Process includes the functions of intake, processing and review determination. Work at this level includes interviewing clients to obtain required information, completing initial applications, verifying information, determining program requirements and referring customers to other program services as appropriate.  Employee must be a team player, possess excellent communication and computer skills, and quickly gain an excellent knowledge of program requirements.  Employee is accountable for accuracy of work and must understand the negative impact of errors on clients and the agency.  This employee must be able to deal with clients in a professional manner at all times.

 

Qualifications

Minimum training and experience are graduate from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, ITS Technology or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which include negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
