Distinguishing Features of the Class An employee in this class performs emergency medical procedures at the certified paramedic level, performing professional advanced life support work in operating in approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims and performing advanced emergency care including the administration of life sustaining treatment to patients on-site and while en route to area hospitals. Work involves responding to the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls, applying necessary medical treatment to sick or injured persons, and transporting persons to a medical facility. Employees serve as a member of a response unit and are responsible for the medical care administered to the patient. Work requires considerable independent judgment in assessing the condition of patients and applying short-term relief. Employees are exposed to the normal hazards of emergency rescue work, including risk of exposure to human body fluids and infectious diseases, thus the work is subject to the OSHA requirements for blood borne pathogens. Work is performed in accordance with established Qualifications The position requires a High School Graduate or equivalent and possession of an Emergency Technician certification at the Paramedic level. This vacancy will remain open until filled. Anson County Parks and Recreation and Maintenance MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Salary Grade: 59 ( General Statement of Duties This position participates in performing semi-skilled and some skilled trades work and manual labor in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and maintenance equipment. Distinguishing Features of the Class This position is part of the maintenance staff and participates in performing manual labor in the maintenance and repair of building, grounds and maintenance equipment. The employee serves as a lead worker of seasonal maintenance employees ensuring mowing schedules are met and assigned grounds areas are appropriately maintained. Initiative and resourcefulness are needed to determine the methods and tools to be used on a particular assignment. Daily work priorities are set and work orders are distributed by the supervisor. The employee is subject to working in both inside and outside environments, with exposure to noise, electrical current, chemicals, dust, fumes, odors and heights. The employee participates in an on-call rotation for emergency service call-back. Work is performed under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and is evaluated through observation, inspections of completed work, work order records and by customer feedback.
