PROCESSING ASSISTANT III
ANSON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
Salary Grade 57: (Hiring Range $20,337 – $21,354 depending on the candidates experience, qualifications and skills)
General Statement of Duties
This full-time position reporting to the Agency’s Administrative Officer is primarily responsible for managing multi-lined switchboard and routing callers to the appropriate unit or staff member. Main tasks include answering telephone, screening and directing calls, providing information to callers, greeting persons entering the agency and dealing with questions from clients and staff. This position must provide back-up support to the main receptionist and other clerical staff, and is responsible for maintenance and distribution of the agency’s internal telephone log and monthly events calendar, and mail pickup each morning and delivery each afternoon.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess excellent computer, communication and interpersonal skills. The individual must work effectively in a team-oriented environment, and have a working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, and customer service principles. Candidate must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent and at least two years experience as a receptionist or providing clerical support.

2010 CENSUS JOBS COMING TO NORTH CAROLINA AND ANSON COUNTY
The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to hire up to 1,100 field workers in its Concord Region, including Anson Cabarrus, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly and Union Counties.
These part-time, temporary jobs offer flexible working hours (evening and weekends), paid training and very good pay.
Applicants must pass a basic skills test and have their own transportation (workers will be reimbursed for mileage). Most hiring will take place from February to May 2010.
