Sheriff's Office
A Sheriff's Deputy, or Deputy Sheriff, is a sworn law enforcement officer responsible directly to the Sheriff of the county. All deputies must meet state minimum standards as established by the NC Sheriffs’ Training and Standards Commission, which includes a 16 week basic training academy, and state administered test.
