Nutrition Sites

Three Nutrition Sites located in Morven, Wadesboro and Peachland promote the health and well-being of older adults through the provision of a nutritious meal five days a week. Congregate nutrition services are available to persons who are 60 years of age or older and their spouses regardless of age.

Home Delivered Meal Program

Home Delivered Meal Programs located in the following cities help individuals to maintain and improve the health of impaired home-bound older persons by providing a nutritionally balance meal served in the home:

  • Ansonville
  • Burnsville
  • Deep Creek
  • Lilesville
  • Morven
  • Peachland
  • Polkton
  • Wadesboro

Volunteer Help

The meals are delivered by volunteers on a daily basis or some may receive frozen meals on a weekly basis. Services eligibility is determined by 60 years of age or older and need.

Family Caregiver Support Program

Family Caregiver Support Program provides assistance for the caregiver. Sometimes persons caring for a love one feel overwhelmed with their caregiving responsibilities. This program provides assistance by relieving the caregiver with In-home respite care for a few hours, nutritional supplements or incontinent supplies if needed.

In-Home Aide Services

In-Home Aide Services assist individuals and their families with maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment. Enabling the recipient to stay in their home thereby maintaining their dignity and independence.

Transportation Services

Transportation Services are available to anyone that is 60 years of age or older in and surrounding Anson County.

Senior Health Insurance Information Program

Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counseling is available to any resident of Anson County by appointment only.

Health Promotion / Disease Prevention

Health Promotion/Disease Prevention is a state funded program geared at helping to keep older adult healthy and aware of diseases affecting older adults. Distribution of informative pamphlets, seminars, health fairs and workshops are some of the activities of this program.

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is geared at focusing on those individuals that are arthritic with various evidence based ways to manage the disease.

Senior Law Project

Senior Law Project (Legal Aide of North Carolina) serve clients that are 60 years of age or older by providing high quality legal assistance in a timely and responsive manner to Anson County clients. For service call 1-877-579-7562 (toll-free), for an appointment.
